Structure is required to delivery of inclusive activities, this prevents us get tied up as deliverer with the models of disability, terminology as well as what is not possible. At Gilligan's Isl we developed the tried and tested "Decision Making Framework" (DMF). This structure provides a progression of thoughts skills and choices for tutors to enable the optimum adventurous and sporting activity,
In this training we identify and explore and expand on the operation of the first two stages. this is in depth as this is about how we interact with our clients to make the most of there wishes and needs and key to a successful activity. the DMF makes these first two stages are generic for any activity before becomes activity specific at stage 3 onward.
Overview of the " Decision Making Framework" (DMF).
The stages of 1 & 2 lead in progressive and constructive foundation for all other inclusive activities to be undertaken, We as deliverers may not be fully contours that we do this but this is the key stage in preparation for and activity, and where the focus of understanding in this disability awareness to provide techniques to perfect preparation and an output of success by inclusion.
The DMF provides a logical; progression. its advantages are that it integrates with other process and inclusive models used for enabling access to sport and adventures. It provides an order in which decisions and actions can be efferently taken and forms a logical basis for layout of skills for yourself.
It is quite likely that an experienced tutor may well be identifying and individuals inspiration and functionality (stage 1 & 2) hours before and activity and possibly thought the medium of another activity. This skill enables a smooth progression though the DMF, allowing focus on stage 3 activity preparation.
It should be noted that whilst the intention is to progress though the DMF, sometimes taking a step back to the previous stage may be desired. Do what is required so as to enable the best quality activity for the individual. it is to them the reference and consideration should be continually made, thereby enabling them to be in control and not in the spotlight.
