On these Terms and Conditions (Ts & Cs) pages we highlight the purchase of services, booking procedures, regulation authorities, and our policies. If you are unable to find what you are looking for or have any queries contact us.

1 Booking Procedure

Places and booking can only be confirmed after the following procedure:

  • Confirmation of date and time has been corresponded in writing and agreed between booking party and acknowledged by Gilligan's Isl.
  • Receipt of an enrolment form for a group or individual enrolment form on courses with set places.
  • Payment is made via bank transfer or card payment in accordance with payment procedure for course or activities. Course start times, kit lists, etc. will be sent upon receipt of full payment and above stages complete.

Bookings cannot be provisionally placed or reserved by telephone/email/letter without any of the above.


2 Payment*

The course fee must be paid in full no less than 28 days prior to the start of the course.

A provisional booking will not be accepted until a 50% non-refundable deposit is paid. The course is not confirmed until full payment is received.

For courses booked within 28 days of start date then full payment is required as soon as possible for course confirmation.

Gilligan’s Island Innovations reserves the right to re-allocate the course place to another delegate or organisation if fees are not paid on time.

All transfer charges must be paid on receipt of the invoice.

Late Payments Penalty. With respect to the unpaid amount of any invoice not paid in full within 28 days of receipt, a financial charge of 2% per month, payable from the date of the invoice to the date of payment is received, shall be due and payable to IR. In addition, purchaser shall indemnify IR for its costs, including reasonably attorneys fees and disbursements, incurred to collect any unpaid amount.


Work carried out for remittance post work has specific terms and conditions as identified on invoice.


3.1 Cancelling by Customer of Courses*

All cancellations must be made at least 28 days prior to the start of the course.

  • Deposits are non-refundable.
  • 50% of course costs are non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled within 28 days prior to the start date of the course.
  • 100% of course costs are non-refundable, if a delegate fails to attend the course. There will be no refund of any fees paid.


Cancellation, curtailment, travel, accommodation, legal, medical, personal injury, possession, money etc. insurance is not included and Gilligan’s Island Innovations accept no responsibility whatsoever in respect of loss or damage to personal property, including items carried/placed in equipment provided.


3.2 Cancelling by Customer of Specified work dates


All cancellations must be made in accordance to time scale:

  • Provisional Dates cancelled (prior to conformation being sent)- No cancelation fee From gilligan island.
  • Work cancelled with 21 days or more Calendar days notice - No cancelation fee From gilligan island.
  • Work cancelled with less than 21 days notice  but before first day of booking-50% of course costs
  • Work cancelled on day of event-100% of agreed course fee  to be paid


3.4 Work hours


 
4 Transferring Courses*

If a delegate wishes to transfer a booking, they can do so within 28 days prior to the original course date to a later date, there will be a surcharge of 25% of the course fee. 

Course bookings cannot be transferred more than once. If that transfer is subsequently cancelled the surcharge will remain payable.


5 Changing Delegate Details

There will be no charge if a substitute person wishes to replace an original delegate. Please inform Gilligan’s Island Innovations of any change to the original booking prior to the course commencing.

All participants to be over the age of 18, unless accompanied by a participating, legally responsible parent or guardian.

If there is an increase in delegate numbers then costs will be incurred on an individual basis. Please inform Gilligan’s Island Innovations as soon as possible.


6 Course Content

Gilligan’s Island Innovations courses are constantly being updated and improved and we reserve the right to alter any of the course content without prior notice.


7 Cancellation of Courses by the Gilligan's Island Innovations

Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that courses run, occasionally we may need to cancel courses due to dangerous or unsuitable conditions or minimum participant numbers required for course to operate. Gilligan’s Island Innovations reserves the right to cancel a course at any time without liability. We will endeavour to give as much notice as is practically possible and either:

  • Offer an alternate activity or booking on another date.
  • Full refund of the fee paid.


8 Health & Safety

Gilligan’s Island Innovations welcomes participants of all abilities. Please contact us to discuss the wealth of adaptable opportunities available for you.

All participants are fully aware of the Enrolment Form acceptance statements regarding risk and medical conditions.

Gilligan’s Island Innovations reserves the right to refuse entry of any delegate to the course.

Gilligan’s Island Innovations reserves the right to remove a delegate from the course if the delegate’s action puts him/her self, or others, at risk.


9 Data Protection

Personal data collected will be used for the purpose of delegate and course administration as required by Gilligan’s Island Innovations. It will be securely stored. It may be disclosed to appropriate bodies/organizations associated with courses. Contact details supplied to Gilligan’s Island Innovations will not be passed on to any other third parties without prior agreement.


*For courses to be held outside mainland UK

Payment must be made in Pounds Sterling at least 56 days prior to the course start date. A provisional booking will not be accepted as confirmed until full payment is received.

There is no 50% deposit due - only full payment.

10 Insurance

Course fees do not include insurance for accident, personal injury, and belongings and against cancellation or curtailment of the course. Gilligan's Island Innovations advises participants to take out this cover for the above eventualities. Gilligan's Island Innovations accepts no liability whatsoever for loss or damage to personal property held by customer not caused by Gilligan's Island Innovations


11 Participant Statement

Within climbing and mountaineering courses the British Mountaineering Council (BMC) participant statement must be understood and accepted.

 "The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions'.


Please inform staff if you are not comfortable with any of your programmed activities. Gilligan's Island Innovations has clear obligations and responsibilities and we require participants to contribute to their own and each others safety by following the instructions of our team/staff. Acknowledging these risks in no way compromises your legal right nor does it release Gilligan's Island Innovations from any obligations towards yourself.


12 Transport

Please note that all courses do not include transport. During a course you may be required to use your own vehicle (if you have one).

13.1 Purchases of Publications

Placing orders for books can be done online, by email contact, on phone, or in person. Delivery of publication will be made on receipt of payment.


13.2 Online Publications

Purchasing procedure online is arranged via PayPal,* orders are subject to availability and stock.

On receipt of purchase information entered to PayPal, we will receive an email with the details of your order. These details will be used to post your book (privacy policy).

If due to reduced stock, we are unable to send out a publication at time of order, payment will be held by Gilligan's Island Innovations and we will contact to advise. If we are unable to meet your order request we will provide a full refund.

Online sales are not exclusive, other means of purchase are possible, either by email, phone, or in person


13.3 Postage and Packaging (P&P)

Online purchases have a complementary promotion of free P&P. This is for mainland United Kingdom only. For postage beyond UK mainland and/or overseas, payment will be the same as standard purchase as stated on webpage and PayPal. If purchase address is beyond UK mainland postage price, a return communication email will be made and sent from Gilligan's Island Innovations to identify additional costs of postage, for which an invoice will be generated via PayPal. This will be calculated as per Royal Mail international as standard  (parcel L+D+W under 90cm+under 500g weight)  of postage. Costs vary dependent on location. Primary payment of publication will be held by Gilligan's Island Innovations and item will be posted on receipt of additional cost or alternate payments can be made via contact us.


13.4 Publication Disclaimer (Inclusive Climbing Manual)

While every attempt has been made to ensure that the instructions in publications and books cover the subject in full detail, the authors and publishers cannot accept responsibility for any accidents, injury, loss, or damage sustained while following any of the techniques described.


*No PayPal account is required by purchaser for payment. Credit card details may be entered as an alternative.
